Mischa’s yoga journey began in Adelaide in the mid ‘80’s, when rigorous early morning classes were an ideal antidote to the demands of regular all night partying. As a child brought up in an ashram, early mornings were no big deal, and the group dynamic of a class all commanded to move and breathe as one felt somewhat familiar, albeit ultimately yet another way to lose herself in the search for a sense of belonging.
In 1998 Mischa’s curiosity and travels led her to completing The Heart of Yoga teacher training in Sydney under the tuition of Mark Breadner, Mark Whitwell & Karen Schaefer (now Buddhist nun Ani Pema). This introduction to the tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharyaled to her recent completion of the IAYT accredited 800 hour Yoga Therapy Diploma with Saraswathi Vasudevan at Yoga Vahini in Chennai. Advanced Diplomas in Massage and Gestalt Therapy give Mischa a broad professional background, practiced for over 15 years, from which to offer her students a holistic, multi layered approach.
Mischa is a down to earth, deeply nurturing and compassionate teacher, whose own rich and unusual life experiences provide a wide perspective from which to view life and the people she meets. Through designing a personalized yoga practice for the individual, Mischa invites each of her students to observe their own unique physical movement & thought patterns with awareness. This is the vital component necessary for lasting change, and one of the fundamental steps required of anyone on the path of yoga.
